Smart Wall Insulation Solutions

Transform the Comfort of your Home

No wall insulation at home? We can help you recover up to 25% of its heating/cooling capacity!

Australian homes built pre-2000 usually need insulation repair, top-up, or removal and reinstallation. Every Australian homeowner should consider wall insulation, but the aim is to avoid older, poorly installed insulation or inferior products – this means you’ll miss out on all the benefits!

It’s suggested that R2.0 (resistance value) is the minimum requirement for wall insulation in Aussie homes. When it comes to insulating your home, it’s not the thickness or material that matters – it’s the R-value.

With this in mind 4 Seasons install the most efficient insulation – in new or existing walls – with the benefits being almost instant. Not only will your home save energy costs, but wall insulation can transform the comfort and useability of an entire space!

We advise home owners, designers and builders on the best approach for any property they’re looking to improve.

4 Big Benefits of 4 Seasons Wall Insulation

Using only the highest rated insulation materials, we can offer the following advantages when insulating your walls with us:

Real savings on your energy bills

Home insulation starts paying for itself immediately. It’s a great way to avoid bill shock caused by skyrocketing electricity bills for heating and cooling, creating a space with optimum energy efficiency.

Protection from the elements

Your walls are a barrier between your comfortable living space and the outside elements. Wall insulation will optimise heat flow within your home, benefit your health and reduce costs associated with temperature extremes – just think of those hot, westerly walls!

Thermal imaging service available

We can provide thermal images to highlight particular areas in problem walls where heat is unnecessarily escaping or being absorbed, such as those walls facing west.

Always installed by trained operators

We guarantee an effective, professional installation service, completed by our trained staff. We will take every step to help you make the best investment for the future comfort of your home.

Installation Solutions

At 4 Seasons, we can work with a variety of new and existing walls including:

Timber vinyl and compressed fibre cement clad walls

Brick walls

Double brick walls

Office partition walls and acoustic insulation

Including acoustic batts and/or pumped in cellulose fibre

Plasterboard walls

Brick Veneer Wall Insulation

Brick veneer walls (“brick skin” on the outside) are not ideal for thermal mass or efficiency. They get hot in summer and continue to radiate heat late into the evening. During winter, external bricks stay cold and soak up valuable heat from your house. One of the greatest benefits of wall insulation is to protect you from the temperature extremes heightened by brick veneer housing.

Reverse brick veneer in comparison is more thermally efficient, as the thermal mass is internal. Despite this, good insulation is still vital when maintaining an optimum temperature inside the home.

How is Brick Veneer Wall Insulation installed?
Insulation is pumped down into the wall cavity via the property’s roof, filling up the width of the wall frame. Where there are windows, we remove the brick and pump under the window to fill this gap, and once complete the bricks are carefully re-mortared into their original position.

Timber Framed Wall Insulation

Timber framed walls are a low mass construction. This means they will rely entirely on insulation to maintain thermal mass and attain optimal comfort for the home. Nearly all homes in Australia use plasterboard as a lining for interior walls, so we can also insulate existing gyprock walls too.

How is Timber Framed Wall Insulation installed?
We don’t recommend removing existing gyprock, as it can be costly to the homeowner. Instead, we carefully core holes into gyprock material and pump the insulation into the voids between studs and noggings, filling the wall cavity. This can be labour intensive, but the process will give you a higher than standard R-rating.

Cavity fill methods available for walls:

  1. Polystyrene balls (if lining or cladding not removed)
  2. Mineral fibres (if lining or cladding not removed)
  3. Bulk batts
  4. Concertina foil batts
  5. Multi-cell foil batts

High Performance INSULBLOC Technology

INSULBLOCⓇ is an innovative wall insulation product, made in Australia for Australian homes.

Made from an old insulation material – it’s simply cubes made from expanded polystyrene. Polystyrene has been used as an insulation material since the 1940s and during this time polystyrene ‘Bean Bag’ type beads have been pumped into wall cavities of northern hemisphere homes to provide a proven and effective wall insulation.

to FAQs on INSULBLOC

Some forms of insulation can actually double as a vapour or moisture barrier. Compared to insulation batts, INSULBLOCⓇ excels in vapour resistance. It’s hydrophobic, meaning it won’t wick moisture across cavities through capillary action. Old polystyrene bead insulation once relied on the addition of glue to stabilise it once in a wall cavity, but the polygonal properties of INSULBLOCⓇ remove the need for glue and the risk of ‘wetting’ exposed electrical wires and fittings.

Compared to other materials available on the market, INSULBLOCⓇ is one of the most environmentally friendly brick cavity wall insulation solutions available, using recycled raw materials, contributing to reducing greenhouse gases.

We always recommend having complementary insulation throughout your home, and can always provide a quote on how best to achieve this. INSULBLOCⓇ is capable of reducing heating and cooling costs up to a further 60% when you also instal complementary ceiling insulation in your home. There are also proven benefits to insulating under windows.

Of course it can! Insulbloc can be successfully installed down a wall cavity without the need for drilling a large pattern of holes through the walls to achieve the optimum density for a good insulation rating and waterproofing.

Gaps are to be avoided in all types of insulation, as even a small gap can greatly reduce a home’s insulating value. Fortunately, INSULBLOCⓇ wall insulation is easier to install and essentially “gap free” cubes to maximise insulation ratings.

Transform Your Home Energy Rating

Homes built pre-2000 usually need insulation repair, top-up or removal and reinstallation. Homeowners with older, poorly installed insulation, often using inferior products, are getting no benefits at all.
